Welcome to Donaldson Class
We are named after the much loved children’s author, Julia Donaldson. In the words of the class, “That means she writes books for children.” Julia Donaldson started writing songs and rhymes from a young age. Over twenty years ago, her song about a house that was too small was transformed into a wonderful children’s book, A Squash and a Squeeze and she has been writing books ever since. Many of her rhyming stories are adored by children and teachers all over the country. We especially love The Gruffalo and some of us can re-tell the story without the book. When Julia Donaldson is not jotting down another fascinating tale, she spends lots of time visiting schools, inspiring children to create their own rhymes and stories and from 2011 until 2013, she was the Children’s Laureate.
When we are not listening to or acting out a well-known Julia Donaldson story, you can often find us engaging in outdoor activities or making lots of magnificent pictures and models in the creative area. We are a very friendly and energetic class with lots of enthusiasm for learning. If you are ever visiting our school then please feel free to come and find us as we love to chat to all our guests.
