The Wellbeing Team are reliable, approachable, non-judgemental and support
pupils, parents, carers and staff.

At Cecil Road Primary & Nursery School we recognise that a child’s emotional
health and wellbeing influences their cognitive development and learning, as
well as their physical and social health and their mental wellbeing in adulthood.

We work hard to ensure that our children and their families are well and happy
members of our community.

We aim to:

• Listen
• Encourage
• Help
• Support
• Care
• Talk
• Be interested
• Be role models
• Be professional friends
• Signpost

A member of the Wellbeing Team is on duty in the playground every
morning and afternoon. If there is anything you are worried about
feel free to approach any of the team.

The Family Support Officer Role at Cecil Road

The Family Support Officer can work with children who have been
referred, for a number of reasons if teachers or parents are concerned
about the child’s wellbeing.

Reasons for referral could be;

• Bereavement
• Low self-esteem
• Family breakdown
• Lack of confidence
• Poor attendance
• Friendship difficulties
• Transition to secondary school

The Family Support Officer and the Wellbeing Team are available
most mornings.

If the FSO is unavailable due to other commitments, do not hesitate
to make an appointment to see her, either through the reception staff
or by phone.

The FSO is happy to meet parents during the day or if preferred can
visit at home.

If there is a problem at home or school that could be affecting your child’s
happiness please let the school know so that the FSO can help support
your family.
