World Book Day

Our children and staff made a fantastic effort with their costumes on World Book Day this year. During the day everyone took part in fantastic learning linked to different picture books.
The morning begun with a staff meeting made up of various book characters - from Gangsta Granny to the butterfly from the Hungry Caterpillar - this made a change to our normal staff meetings!
As the children arrived we were all transported into a wonderful story world with a wide collection of characters (children dressed up) to celebrate World Book Day.
A HUGE thank you to all the parents that made such a massive effort with the outfits.
The children enjoyed learning all about different books in their classes and at the end of the day we had a fantastic assembly where the whole school got to hear about other children's learning and hear all about the other picture books around the school.
Miss Field shared a story with us all - STUCK by Oliver Jefferies - which had been the inspiration of our writing competition.
Eventually our creative writing winner was announced as Joovan in Year 4 - for his amazing collection of ideas about how the strange objects ended up in the tree. Well Done Joovan.
