Cecil Road Primary & Nursery

SEND

Cecil Road Primary School and Nursery is committed to inclusion and develops a culture that supports and includes all learners.   We endeavour to provide the best learning conditions for each pupil, promoting development in understanding and social maturity alongside their peers wherever possible.

It is our policy to meet the needs of all children who experience barriers to their learning which may include, communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social emotional and mental health or/and physical and sensory.

At Cecil Road we believe in early identification and early support.  We recognise that pupils learn at different rates and that there are many factors affecting achievement. We aim to identify these needs as they arise and provide teaching and learning strategies which enable every child to achieve their full potential.

Our SENCO works with Teachers and Teaching Assistants in the school to provide extra support in school. If necessary, we involve outside agencies or seek further specialist advice and support.

We work in partnership with our children, parents, carers, specialists and governors. The school values the abilities and achievements of all its pupils and celebrates small steps progress.

Our SENCo is:

 Laura Southgate

She can be contacted via the school office on 01474 534544.
